In November 1977 the National Institutes of
Health (NIH) issued a report endorsing the practice of acupuncture for
treating a number of different conditions including (but not limited to)
headaches, bowel disorders, post-stroke rehabilitation, low back pain,
asthma, nausea, addiction, fibromyalgia, tennis elbow, menstrual cramps,
and osteoarthritis. The report concluded that acupuncture is an effective
therapy and should be integrated into standard medical practice. The
report also emphasized that acupuncture is very safe and has few side
effects. The World Health Organization (WHO) has endorsed
acupuncture and Traditional Oriental Medicine to treat over 43 common
disorders.
Some of the common disorders we are treating in our office are:
Gynecological Disorders including infertility (for men & women),
support through IVF or IUI treatments, PMS, irregular periods, menopause,
PCOS, endometriosis, ovarian cysts and morning sickness.
Disorders of Muscles, Bones, Joints and Nervous System such as
migraine headache, arthritis, tendonitis, back, neck and shoulder pain,
numbness and neuropathy.
Emotional and Psychological Disorders including depression, anxiety
and insomnia.
Respiratory Disorders such as asthma, allergies, sinusitis and
bronchitis.
Digestive Disorders including Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS),
Crohn’s disease, Ulcerative Colitis, diarrhea, and constipation.
Circulatory Disorders, such as hypertension, angina pectoris,
arteriosclerosis and anemia.
Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat disorders.
Note: Acupuncture is often effective therapy for other chronic and
painful debilitating disorders which have no clear explanation or origin.
